The weeks following childbirth can be a tremendous adjustment
perod, one in which the new Mother's routine has been changed
dramatically from the days that she was "expecting".
Virtual
sleepless nights, and the responsibility of caring for a
new baby while recovering from the birthing process can
place tremendous stress on a new parent.
There are
also a great number of physical and emotional changes taking
place as the body returns to its pre pregnant state.
One key
to a successful and happy recovery is to have a support
system in place following the birth of the baby. A partner,
relative or friend can be of tremendous assistance during
this time and if possible, should be utilized until the
mother regains her strength and is rested and relaxed.
